Magnetic Dipole and Dipole Moment

Magnetic Dipole:

A magnetic dipole is an arrangement of two magnetic poles of equal and opposite strength separated by a small distance.

Example- A bar magnet and a compass needle, etc.


Magnetic Dipole Moment:

Magnetic dipole moment is the product of the strength of either pole of the magnetic length of the magnet.

It is represented by M.

Direction: S to N.
